In Your Streams is made by Lloyd Holder (66 Paul Street, London EC2A 4NA, United Kingdom). Contact: [email protected]. This policy covers the iPhone and Android apps and inyourstreams.com.
No account needed. You don't sign up and we never ask for your email, phone number, contacts or location.
What we store on our server
- A random ID created when you install the app (not linked to your name, phone number or advertising ID).
- The DJ name you choose (optional — "Anonymous DJ" if you don't set one) and whether you're on iPhone or Android.
- Your round scores (crate, mode, score, answers right) for the shared leaderboards, and your lifetime points (for DJ levels).
- Live battles: the room code, the tracks played, both players' DJ names and scores. Rooms are tidied away automatically.
- Once a day when the app opens: the random ID, platform and app version, so we can count how many people use the app.
We use this only to run leaderboards, battles and challenges and to see how the app is used. We don't sell it.
What stays on your phone
- Your stats, streaks, badges, saved playlists and settings.
Music
- Clips are 30-second previews from Apple Music. On iPhone, with your permission, Apple Music (MusicKit) can add playlists to your library (Apple's privacy policy applies). If you connect Spotify, the app talks to Spotify directly to create playlists; your Spotify login stays on your phone and isn't sent to us (Spotify's privacy policy applies).
Game Center (iPhone)
- If you're signed in, scores and achievements go to Apple's Game Center under your Game Center name.
Notifications
- If you allow them, we use Apple Push / Google Firebase Cloud Messaging to send occasional messages (new crates, battle invites). This uses a push token for your device. You can turn notifications off in your phone's settings.
Advertising
- The app is free and shows ads from Google AdMob. In the UK/EEA we ask for consent first; change it any time in Stats → Ad privacy options. With consent, AdMob may use your device's advertising identifier for more relevant ads; without it you still see ads, just less personalised. Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.
Analytics & crash reports (iPhone)
- Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics help us fix crashes (device type, app version, in-app events, crash logs). On Android, Google Play shares anonymous crash reports with us.
Challenge and battle links
- These contain the track IDs, score and DJ name you chose, and are only seen by whoever you send them to.
Security
- Everything is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS).
Your rights and deleting your data
- Delete the app to remove everything stored on your phone.
- To delete what's on our server (scores, DJ name, battle history), email [email protected] with your DJ name — we'll remove it within 30 days.
- You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Children
- The app isn't directed at children under 13.
